Thorpe Moeckel, author of According to Sand and six other books, has taught in the writing program at Hollins University since 2005. His work has been recipient of NEA, Javits, Hoyns, Sustainable Arts, and Kenan Fellowships. His first middle grade novel, True as True Can Be, is forthcoming.
