Lucinda Roy, author of Flying the Coop, Volume II in her slave narrative trilogy The Dreambird Chronicles, is an award-winning writer whose eight books include the novel The Freedom Race and the memoir No Right to Remain Silent. She is a Distinguished Professor of Creative Writing at Virginia Tech.
