Lauren K. Alleyne has authored two collections of poetry, Difficult Fruit and Honeyfish, and co-edited Furious Flower: Seeding the Future of African American Poetry. She is an associate professor of English at James Madison University, and assistant director of the Furious Flower Poetry Center.
