Kristina Gorcheva-Newberry is the author of The Orchard.  She won the Katherine Anne Porter Prize and the Raz/Shumaker Prairie Schooner Book Prize in Fiction for her first story collection, What Isn’t Remembered.  She lives with her family, splitting her time between New York, Virginia, and Russia.
