Karen Long is manager of the Anisfield-Wolf Book Awards, established in 1935 and the only juried prize for the best books each year to confront racism and celebrate the rich diversity of human cultures. Long oversees an annual PBS documentary about the prize winners and hosts a podcast, the Asterisk, with the recipients. Prior to that, Long was book editor of The Plain Dealer in Cleveland.
