Jody Hobbs Hesler is the author of the story collection What Makes You Think You’re Supposed to Feel Better and the forthcoming novel Without You Here (September 2024). Her words also appear widely in journals such as Necessary Fiction, Gargoyle, Atticus Review, Electric Literature, CRAFT, and Arts & Letters. She teaches at WriterHouse; writes and copy edits for Virginia Wine & Country Life and Charlottesville Family Magazine; and serves as assistant fiction editor for the Los Angeles Review.

The Write Start: Moseley Speed Critique

Panelists will read aloud from anonymous submissions of the first 100 words of original, unpublished manuscripts, then discuss story elements that work, suggest story elements that could be improved, and answer questions from the audience.
