B. Brian Foster is an ethnographer and multi-medium storyteller working to document and interpret the culture, folklore, and placemaking practices of Black communities in the rural U.S. South. He is Associate Professor of Sociology at the University of Virginia. He is author of two books: I Don’t Like The Blues and Ghosts of Segregation.
