Reverend Almeta Ingram-Miller is the leader of the Legendary Ingramettes, Richmond’s first family of gospel music. The eldest daughter of the late “Mother” Maggie Ingram, the “Queen of Richmond Gospel,” Almeta’s life has been steeped in music. Almeta recently performed at both UVA’s Bicentennial Celebration and ceremony honoring the burial site for unknown slaves. She preaches at Metropolitan Africa American Baptist Church in Richmond.
