The Cooking Gene: A Journey Through African American Culinary History in the Old South


Michael W. Twitty, author of The Cooking Gene, is a noted culinary and cultural historian who traces his ancestry through food. Twitty is also the creator of Afroculinaria, the first blog devoted to African American historic foodways and their legacy. He was recently named one of fifty people changing the South by Southern Living and is a 2016 TED Fellow.
