Remica Bingham-Risher will read from and discuss her latest collection, Room Swept Home, which retraces trauma and truth in her own family line, weaving in historical documents from her ancestors. Following the reading, she will lead a short writing workshop. This Festival of the Book preview event will be held at Heritage Public Library.

The Virginia Festival of the Book Preview Events bring authors across the state before the main Festival in Charlottesville on March 20–24. Preview events are sponsored by Michelle and David Baldacci. This reading, held in Charles City on Saturday, March 16th, is presented in partnership with the Heritage Public Library.
