Don P. Hooper, author of True True, joins fellow novelists Sarah Mughal Rana and Kelly Ann Jacobson for a talk about Hope Ablaze and Robin and Her Misfits, novels with teen characters who learn how to be true to themselves in extraordinary circumstances.

Whether a Black kid from a Carribean-Brooklyn neighborhood finding his strengths in an all-white Manhattan private school; a Muslim teen discovering who she is in post-9/11 America, or a spunky gang of kids committed to uplifting queer girls, these teen characters are as inspiring as the authors who imagined them.

Teens are welcome to join in for the conversation and stay for the pizza!
