Janine Joseph, a poetry professor at Virginia Tech and organizer with Undocupoets, reads from her new collection Decade of the Brain, investigating her own post-concussive memory loss. Gregory Orr, Professor Emeritus of English at UVA and founder of its MFA Program in Creative Writing, presents his most recent work Selected Books of the Beloved, a celebration of the transformative power of poetry and of our extraordinary capacity to feel and to love. In Bright: A Memoir, poet Kiki Petrosino blends verse, research, and autobiography as she investigates her interracial ancestry. Virginia Humanities COO Kevin McFadden moderates.
