The Origin Project is an in-school writing program that seeks to inspire young people to discover and release their inner voices through the art of writing about their unique origins, with the idea that Appalachia’s stories are national treasures and its children should celebrate their roots. As part of their 10th anniversary celebration, teachers and high school students are invited to Emory & Henry College for the unique opportunity to spend time with two bestselling authors. Adriana Trigiani will be in conversation with Barbara Kingsolver, recipient of a National Humanities Medal and founder of the Bellwether Prize. Kingsolver will take readers on a journey of how she created her new book, Demon Copperhead, sharing her wisdom in writing about Appalachia.

This is a special event for high school students and their parents and educators. RSVP to Linda Woodward by March 7: woodward2000@gmail.com
