Register for the Fest!
This year, festival attendees must register for the Fest. Most events are free, but registering in advance gets you into your venue seamlessly and quickly.
- From the Festival home page, go to Register Now, the red button at the top. Or, if you have already registered, go to “Already Registered?” right beneath it.
- Key in your information. (If you have already registered, the system will send you a verification code).
- Select the events you wish to attend.*
- Go to Order Summary. If you have selected a paid event and wish to use a discount code, you’ll see a place to apply the code.
- Enter your credit card number, if you have selected paid events, and your transaction is complete!
*Some tickets must be ordered through a third party, including the Sally Mann Author Talk and Elizabeth Evitts Dickinson Author Talk and Fashion Demo at the Paramount.
Download the App!
Once you’ve registered, you can download the app for a seamless experience at the festival. Download Cvent from your app store (Google Play or Apple) and search for “Virginia Festival of the Book 2026.” You will receive a verification code via email. If you do not get a code it may be because you are not a registrant on the Cvent system, and you will need to follow the steps above.
There you should see your name and a QR code. You can use this code to scan into events. You can also view announcements and complete a survey after your Festival experience has concluded, and access the schedule of events.
Visit Our Information Desk!
This year, the information desk will be located in The Bradbury, along the downtown mall, on 300 East Main Street. Come see us from 1:00-5:00 on Friday, March 20 or 10-4:30 on Saturday, March 21. Purchase a Festival tee shirt or tote bag, and buy lunch from the Bradbury’s cafe!
