As you make your way around Charlottesville and Albemarle County to attend festival programming between March 20-24, here are some travel advisories to keep in mind and plan around:
Ongoing: A section of Water Street in downtown Charlottesville is currently closed while crews work on the sewer system. Drivers will be unable to travel east-bound on Water Street from Ridge Street / McIntire Road down to Second Street South East. Instead, they will prompted to use Ridge St., Monticello Avenue, and Second St. SE to avoid the closure. Drivers traveling the opposite direction on Water Street will not be affected, and the Second Street mall crossing will remain open.
Saturday, March 23: The Charlottesville Ten Miler will take place in and around downtown, beginning at 7:15 AM on Saturday. A variety of roads along the course will be closed that morning between 6:00 AM-9:45 AM, as detailed HERE. Please plan detours if you are volunteering, taking part in the Lit Fair, or hoping to get to a 10:00 AM Festival program early.
