Program Schedule

Publishers Marketing Association (PMA) and the Virginia Festival of the Book are sponsoring six seminars designed for small and mid-sized publishers, and for those who want to learn about the publishing business as a career opportunity. The seminars begin on the afternoon of Friday, March 26 and continue all day Saturday, with luncheon included.

A variety of publishing professionals will talk and answer questions on foreign rights sales; new technology in on-demand printing; utilizing effective publicity; special sales and opening new markets; what to do and what to avoid in starting a new publishing business; and a brainstorming session on how to launch and promote new titles offered by those in attendance.

There will also be table displays for vendors who sell to the publishing industry, at $200 per table (sharing available). Fees for the entire session (six seminars), including luncheon, are $115 for PMA members, $140 for no-members; for four programs, with luncheon, $75 for members, $100 for non-members; for any two programs, $50 for members, $70 for non-members; and for a single seminar, $30 for members, $40 for non-members. There is a ten percent discount for two or more people from the same company.
