John Casteen's Free Union was published by the University of Georgia Press in spring 2009. His work has appeared in The Paris Review, Ploughshares, Shenandoah, and the Virginia Quarterly Review, where he serves on the editorial staff. He teaches poetry and creative writing at Sweet Briar College.
