Virginia Festival of the Book Ticket Information

(Charlottesville, VA…Feb 8.) The 16th Annual Virginia Festival of the Book, produced by the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities, is March 17-21. The schedule is now online at vabook.org.
Most events are free and open to the public.

Guaranteed seating tickets are on sale now for three Culbreth Theatre events, Wednesday through Friday (March 17-19), featuring Lucinda Franks, Dara Horn, Kaylie Jones, John Casey, Maud Casey, Alice Randall, Elizabeth Benedict, Nikki Giovanni, and Kevin Young.  At the request of Festival attendees, guaranteed seating tickets for evening events at the Culbreth Theatre can be purchased for $10 through the U.Va. Arts Box Office, located within the lobby of the Drama Building and Culbreth Theatre, at 109 Culbreth Road.  Details and links to the online Box Office can be found online at vabook.org.  Remaining tickets will be distributed for free through the Box Office beginning at Noon on the day of the event.  The Arts Box office hours are 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

For the Saturday, March 20 Paramount Theater headline event “American Accents”—featuring E. Ethelbert Miller, Colum McCann, Lee Smith, and Elizabeth Strout—tickets can be purchased only through the Paramount Theater box office at 434-979-1333 or theparamount.net.  All tickets are $10 and are general admission; no free tickets are available for this event.

A limited number of tickets are available for the Virginia Festival of the Book's two luncheons, both at the Charlottesville Omni.  Emmy Award winner and novelist Michael Malone will speak at the March18 Luncheon, and Agatha Award nominee Julia Spencer-Fleming will speak at the March 20 "Crime Wave" luncheon. Tickets are $50 each and can be purchased online at vabook.org.

The Book Festival Business Breakfast, March 17 at 7:30 a.m. at the Omni, features Michael Gelb speaking on “How to Think Creatively in Tough Times.”  Tickets are $30 through February 28 after which they increase to $35.  Table sponsorships are available at $350 each and include additional marketing and recognition benefits.
