Getting Around In Charlottesville

Bicycles

There are bicycle lanes around the Downtown and University areas, and in the corridor between these two areas. All Charlottesville Transit System buses are equipped to take bicycles. Bike racks are available at all the major locations.

Bus Service

www.charlottesville.org/transit.( Please check website for updated information, as some changes to routes, fares and times are currently being proposed.)

Public bus service is available Monday-Saturday from 6:15 AM-6:45 PM on all routes and until 11:45 PM in many areas. Regular fare is 75 cents per one-way trip. Exact change is required on buses. There is a free trolley service offering rides between Downtown, The Corner and UVA Grounds. It runs every 15 minutes Monday-Saturday from 6:38 AM to 11:53 PM (the last trolley leaves downtown at 11:23 PM).

All CTS vehicles are wheelchair accessible and equipped with bike racks.

During the festival, CTS bus guides are available at the VABook! Information Desk in the lobby of the Omni Hotel. All CTS vehicles are wheelchair accessible and equipped with bike racks.

Day Passes (with unlimited rides on a day) are available at the CTS office( 315 4th St. N.W.), City Hall, and the Downtown Visitors’ Center.
