Rita Dove, Poet Laureate of the United States 1993-1995, is a Pulitzer Prize-winner and the author of nine books of poetry. Her most recent, Sonata Mulattica, tells the story of Euro-African violinist George Bridgetower. She is the Commonwealth Professor of English at the University of Virginia. Boyd Tinsley is the violinist for the Dave Matthews Band. Classically trained under concertmaster of the Baltimore Symphony, Isadore Saslav, he grew up in Charlottesville. View Events |
