Most Festival programs are free and open to the public. But because of the demand for limited-seating Headline Events at the Culbreth Theatre, and to account for special needs, the Festival has instituted a $15 Headline Events pass.

You will receive one 15th Annual Virginia Festival of the Book shopping bag with the purchase of each pass.

Individual passes ($15) are available for the following events:

A $50 “All Access” pass includes a book bag and admission to all these events.

WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF A PASS?

Instead of waiting in line (free tickets are distributed one hour prior to any Headline Event), you can purchase a pass that allows you to come to the event and be assured a seat. The following restrictions will apply:

  1. Passes may be picked up at the door to each event (look for the Headline Event passes sign) OR Monday, March 16-Wednesday, March 18 prior to the Festival at the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities. If passes are not claimed prior to the Festival, expect that they will be at the door each evening.
  2. Passes are transferable to another person, but not valid on any other night than the one purchased. Only the ALL ACCESS pass is valid any night.
  3. Passes guarantee you a seat in certain reserved areas of the Theatre. You must arrive at least 10 minutes in advance of event starting time, or the preferences become limited to the rear of the Theatre. (A seat will still be held.)
  4. Doors to the Theatre open 30 minutes before event start time. Exceptions will only be made for those with special needs (difficulty standing or a physical disability).

HOW DO I RECEIVE MY PASS?

You may pick up your Headline Pass and bag either at the door to the event, or during business hours March 16-18 at the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities. Passes will not be mailed. For more information, call 434-924-3296.

We will have a list of all passholders at the door to each evening event. We hope you enjoy this new convenience.
