Publishing and the Internet: Mixing and Maxing Media

The Eighth Annual Festival of the Book, VABook! 2002, presents Publishers
Day 2002, Publishing and the Internet: Mixing and Maxing Media. The
day-long conference will feature programs on electronic, print-on-demand and conventional
publishing, and panel discussions on how to integrate the media for maximum promotional
success and educational value.
Guest speakers and panelists come from the worlds of publishing, writing and
academia. They include Jason Epstein, the father of the quality paperback
and ePublishing enthusiast; Carol Fitzgerald of Bookreporter.com; M.J. Rose and
Douglas Clegg, novelists who have found success through ePublishing; David Seaman,
Director of the University of Virginia eText Center, who oversees one of the largest
collections of eBooks available today. Also, representatives from the publishing
industry will be on hand to participate and meet attendees.
The conference will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2002, from 8 a.m. to 5
p.m. and will take place on the grounds of the University of Virginia, at the
Newcomb Hall Ballroom and the Theater. The cost of the conference is $35.00 per
person and includes any and all presentations and panels plus lunch with panelists
and publishing representatives. To make reservations to attend, please print out
